Back To School Time Again

I work like a nut running around getting everything the kids need to start school. I actually start this stupid process about 30 days prior and sometimes even earlier. I do this so I can get it all done and out of the way.
About a week or so before school actually begins, the district begins sending a ton of paperwork to your mailbox...telling you about the upcoming school year. Yes, the "write the checks" flyers are in there as well.
I finally get through all of this crap, and it is crap. The school district automatically assumes all the kids have computers at home because they tell them repeatedly to go to the teacher's web page and get the assignments and date dues. Yet, wouldn't it be nice for them to just send as much as possible electronically?
A day or so before school begins we actually figure out the shower times. Yes, you heard me! Shower times! You see, we have 4 people that need to take showers in the morning and almost all around the same time. As the mom, I have to schedule it. My life has become so important that I feel certain at any moment, President Bush will be calling me to ask me how I do it and for tips on running the country. I assign everyone a time for their shower. My husband has no idea any of this is even happening...that makes it even more funny because I am only putting myself and my children thru all of this scheduling because of him! If he gets in the shower, and then in a few minutes some child of ours gets in their shower and turns on the water...well, its gonna be ugly. So, we work totally around him. Oddly enough, it works...and he just showers as usual and gives NO thought at all to the three children that must also shower.
Today was the actual first day of school and I am proud to admit that my high school daughters missed the bus today. The very first time for this school year they had to get on the bus and they missed it.
Guess who ended up driving them to school? Dad, you know, the guy that enjoyed his shower this morning thanks to me!
You see, we are a team afterall!
